We offer our patients a variety of ways to make an appointment, our system is explained below:
This is an "Open Access" clinic which runs from 08:30 until 10:30.
In order to be seen by a doctor you will need to arrive before 10.30 and book in directly with the receptionist. These appointments are not booked in advance. Where possible, we will offer you choice of clinician who is available on the day. The number of patients per GP is capped to a maximum of 15 for safety reasons. Please be aware that on occasion, you may experience a lengthy waiting time for open surgery but you will be seen.
If a patient arrives after 10.30 and it is NOT an immediately necessary or an emergency appointment, the patient will be offered an appointment in the afternoon where available or offered the choice to attend again the following morning.
If a patient arrives and it is deemed to be an emergency, e.g. chest pain/shortness of breath, the patient will be offered an appointment to be seen by the emergency doctor.
Afternoon surgeries - these are a mix of pre-bookable and release on the day appointments.
There are a limited number of appointments bookable in advance for doctor's sessions (pm) and for routine blood tests with our healthcare assistants which can be booked by contacting the surgery, over the telephone 01354 695888 and also online via our website following the link (online registration at reception is required for this method).
To access the ON-LINE facility you will need to visit the surgery to obtain your login and password details. The reception team will help you with this. When you have registered for the online service you will need to wait 24 hours for this registration to take effect.
You CANNOT register on behalf of someone else unless you have their written permission or the person is under the age of 16.
To book or cancel your appointment online, please use the link at the top of this page:
Emergencies During Surgery Hours
Telephone 01354 695888. Give the patient's name, address and telephone number and explain the nature of the emergency. This service is for genuine emergencies only. You may be asked to meet the doctor at the surgery.
Monday and Thursday Late Evening Surgeries are provided as an additional service, to offer our patients appointments with a doctor outside normal working hours. These appointments are strictly pre-booked and from 6.30pm to 8.00pm, unless you have already booked an appointment, you should consider the surgery closed. Emergency care will continue to be provided by Urgent Care Cambridge.
