Social prescribing works for a wide range of people, including people: with one or more long-term conditions, people who need support with their mental health, people who are lonely or isolated who have complex social needs which affect their wellbeing.

Nurses

The Practice Nursing Team provides appointments during surgery hours for tasks such as dressings, removal of sutures, injections, vaccinations etc. The team performs routine health checks for all new patients and run various health promotion clinics.

Practice Management

The practice manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The practice manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

Administration

The administration team provides secretarial and administrative support dealing with hospital referrals, clinical post, data entry, summarisation of medical records, and general administration.

Reception

The reception team have the hardest role of all; coping with the needs of the patients/clinicians and constraints of our appointment system. They endeavour to provide the best service possible to our patients in total confidence. It would be helpful for general enquiries to be made after 10.30am.

District Nurses

Based at Doddington Hospital, Doddington. The district nurses can be contacted on 0844 931 0045 and select Option 1. This number can be used Monday to Friday between 8am and 4pm. Outside these times, including weekends and bank holidays call 01603 481205.

Health Visitors

Based at Doddington Hospital. They can be contacted on 01354 644368. They provide support and advice to parents of preschool children including all health checks and has a health promotion role with all age groups. They hold a weekly clinic on a Wednesday 1.15 - 2.45 pm at The Children's Centre, Larham Way, Chatteris, Cambs PE16 6PH.

Midwives

Hold weekly clinics at The Children’s Centre, Larham Way, Chatteris, Cambs PE16 6PH. If you think you will need to make an appointment with your GP for this to be confirmed. The GP will refer patients to the Midwife.
